Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, serving in the U.S. Congress for Florida's 13th district since 2023, has voiced opinions on international diplomacy, immigration, and national safety through a series of tweets recently posted to her social media.
On April 16, Luna highlighted the importance of U.S.-El Salvador relations with a statement declaring, "The United States of America is a stronger nation with an ally like El Salvador. Thank you @POTUS and President @nayibbukele for showing strength and unity on the global stage." This tweet addressed the ongoing diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Continuing her engagement in immigration discourse, Luna on April 17 criticized narratives surrounding deportation issues stating, "Abrego Garcia is not an 'innocent deportee.' He is an MS-13 gang member who came here illegally. Enough with the propaganda @ChrisVanHollen." This statement was directed at countering certain perspectives in the political dialogue on immigration and deportation policies.
On the same day, Luna expressed her condolences in response to a recent tragedy, saying, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who were injured in the horrific shooting at Florida State University." This tweet conveyed her support for victims of the incident.
Anna Paulina Luna, 33, born in Santa Ana, California, currently resides in St. Petersburg. She earned a BS from the University of West Florida in 2017 and succeeded former U.S Congress member Charlie Crist in representing Florida’s 13th District since her election in 2023.
