Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 13th district, recently expressed her views on several issues through social media posts. Luna, who has been serving in Congress since 2023 after replacing Charlie Crist, shared her thoughts on health regulations, government appointments, and international drug trafficking.
On February 6, 2025, Rep. Luna voiced concerns regarding the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) stance on food safety. She stated that "Something has become evident: you can’t wait for the FDA to tell you something is healthy." She criticized the agency for vilifying eggs while permitting dangerous chemicals and dyes in foods and called for a ban on Red 40 and other toxic dyes. "Let’s ban Red 40 and other toxic dyes. Let’s MAHA!"
The following day, February 7, 2025, Luna celebrated the confirmation of Russ Vought as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). She described him as "the bold leader we need who will fight to stop the waste and abuse of American taxpayer dollars across our government." She expressed confidence in his leadership by stating "The OMB is in good hands."
Later that day, Luna addressed concerns about Canada's role in fentanyl production. She highlighted Canada's position as a top producer of fentanyl with support from China and Mexican cartels. Referring to a significant drug seizure she said “Remember when they seized 43 pounds of the drug coming from Canada—enough to kill over 9.7 million Americans? ENOUGH!”
