4.9% of citizens unemployed in Pinellas County in 2021

Pinellas County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.9% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 23,984 people out of the 957,989 living in Pinellas County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Pinellas County has decreased compared to the 5.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Pinellas County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 460,640 people who had a job during that time, 2,234 were employed in the Armed Forces and 458,406 belonged to the civilian labor force.
