St. Petersburg Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 02.
Thanks to a donation from the Gary Sinise Foundation, our police officers are receiving trauma kits to help victims until medical help arrives.
Officers received tourniquets, gauze, and bandages to seal wounds, which they can use on victims when they are the first to arrive on a scene. The kits are being handed out today as officers arrive for their shifts.
The Gary Sinise Foundation’s First Responders Outreach provides funding for emergency relief, training, and essential equipment to ensure they perform to the best of their abilities.
