Over 60 new citizen scientists were trained to survey and tag horseshoe crabs around the coast of Florida!
FWRI biologists partnered with UF/IFAS Florida Sea Grant and Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership - CHNEP to complete a south Florida training tour for the Florida Horseshoe Crab Watch Program. Volunteers learned about horseshoe crab biology, management, and community science before taking part in hands on training to understand how to count, measure and tag the crabs.
