Law & You Day at PAL!
Today at the PAL Summer Camp, it was Law & You Day where we showcase a variety of units that SPPD has to offer! It gave the kids a different perspective on policing and it allowed different interactions with several police officers.
The kids first watched a K-9 Demonstration showcased by Officers Shone and Vazquez alongside K-9 Nacho. They were then given a tour of the SWAT BearCat where they were able to climb inside of it and talk with CSO Officer Jackson. Traffic Enforcement Officers Peters and Steffek allowed the kids to sit on their motorcycles and showed them their speed measuring laser. Lastly, the kids then met with Forensic Technician Velluto where they were shown how fingerprinting works. The children got to keep the prints they made as a souvenir.
Overall, the kids had an eventful day full of exciting activities with the help of our SPPD Officers! Way to go everyone!
