St. Petersburg Police Department issued the following announcement on Apr. 26.
1st Degree Murder Charges
An arrest warrant was signed this afternoon charging Johnny Carnegie, age 34, with two counts of first-degree murder for killing Vernon Williams on April 10 and Corlenzo Williams on April 12, in St. Petersburg. Carnegie was previously a person of interest in these cases.
He is also being charged with one count of aggravated assault in a third case. The name of that victim will not be released, as this is still part of an ongoing investigation.
Carnegie is currently in the Hillsborough County Jail on unrelated charges.
