FWRI biologists are currently executing Phase II of a large-scale project to document and characterize plant-pollinator networks in Florida’s longleaf pine sandhills. Phase I took place in peninsular Florida, where 350 insect species were identified and 4,240 individual plant-insect interactions were recorded throughout the year.
Phase II will be conducted in the eastern panhandle throughout the 2022 growing season, with spring sampling already underway.
