St. Petersburg Police Department issued the following announcement on Apr. 15.
During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (April 10-16), Andy Rodriguez is a SPPD public safety telecommunicator you should know:
Andy is a fairly new addition at the police department. Born in Cuba, Andy grew up in Michigan before he relocated to the Tampa Bay area and attended Pinellas Park High School.
He was hired by SPPD in December 2021 as a public safety telecommunicator trainee. He has embraced the role in a positive way.
Andy's upbeat attitude and calming demeanor are wonderful qualities to help callers feel at ease. We look forward to Andy enjoying a bright future in the Emergency Communications Center.
