In recognition of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (April 10-16), Tom O'Brien is a SPPD public safety telecommunicator you should know:
Tom has the honor of being our most tenured public safety telecommunicator. He has been a mainstay in the Emergency Communications Division for 27 years.
He has worked in many capacities in the division and on large scale events. Tom is a valuable source of knowledge.
A second generation Floridian, Tom and his wife, Sherry, have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren. Tom is an avid NASCAR fan and a big supporter of his two favorite baseball teams - the Tampa Bay Rays and St. Louis Cardinals.
