National University of Health Sciences issued the following announcement on Dec. 3
NUHS-Florida faculty member Jennifer Gantzer, DC, MS, recently taught the first-year chiropractic graduate licensing course, "HIV & AIDS: A Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAMS) Approach," during the Florida Chiropractic Association's (FCA's) Southwest Regional Convention in Naples, Fla.
The course presented a heavy emphasis on the current evidence-based practice understanding of the preventative and therapeutic options of treating the disease.
"Treating our recent grads to humanize an HIV positive patient without prejudice further supports our superiority in health care to be both mentors and physicians," said Dr. Gantzer. "The HIV-positive population exists with existential criticism and stereotyping that is unwarranted in this day and age of evidence-based practices. Knowledge is power and we can once again excel in the health care realm to support quality of life."
Dr. Gantzer is a Clinical Sciences Instructor at NUHS-Florida, and a 2014 NUHS alumna. In addition to her academic distinctions, she is board member of the Pinellas County Chiropractic Society (PCCS), as well as their 2021 President-elect. Dr. Gantzer is a member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), the Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA), and a member of the American Nutrition Association (ANA).
