City of St. Petersburg issued the following announcement on Aug. 20
As part of the installation of the Echelman net sculpture, the contractor (Skanska USA) will replace a temporary anchoring system with permanent anchorage cables. The cables were fabricated based on final measurements once the net was reattached and tensioned. This installation is planned over two separate mornings beginning on Monday, August 24th from 4 a.m. to noon and completed on Tuesday, August 25th from 4 a.m. to noon.
For safety reasons, the installation plan requires the public closure of the area immediately beneath the net. This will affect the public’s access to the Pier as well as services and deliveries during a specific block of time.
Monday, August 24th 4 a.m. to noon:
1. No public access to Pier during these hours.
2. Access to the Pelican lot and all service and delivery to the Pier Head, Doc Ford’s and Spa Beach Bistro will be closed.
3. Necessary employees (permit required) can park in the Dolphin lot and can access the site via the north view edge (walk path only).
Tuesday, August 25th 4 a.m. to noon:
1. No public access to Pier during these hours.
2. Service and delivery vehicles to the Pier Head, Spa Beach Bistro and Doc Ford’s will be allowed.
3. Pelican lot and Dolphin lots are open for permitted vehicles only.
