Anna Paulina Luna, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 13th district, has recently shared her thoughts on social media about Mother’s Day and significant developments in El Salvador. Luna, who succeeded Charlie Crist in 2023, is known for her active engagement with constituents and international matters.
On May 11, 2025, Luna expressed gratitude towards mothers across the nation by stating “Happy Mother’s Day to the incredible moms who raise the next generation of American patriots. Your love, strength, and sacrifice are the foundation of this great nation.”
The following day, on May 12, she addressed a serious issue regarding human rights abuses in El Salvador. Luna disclosed that she had obtained footage of mass graves being uncovered in the country. She emphasized the need for global awareness of these atrocities by saying “I have seen and obtained footage of mass graves being uncovered in El Salvador—evidence of the human rights abuses inflicted on innocent civilians by MS-13 and organized crime. The international community needs to know exactly who these monsters are.” In this context, she thanked President Nayib Bukele for his efforts.
Later that day, Luna commended President Bukele’s leadership in combating violence and restoring hope in El Salvador. As Chairwoman of the SAL Caucus, she expressed support for his initiatives by sharing “I saw it with my own eyes— President Bukele has truly liberated El Salvador from the death grip of violent criminal terrorists and restored hope to the people. As Chairwoman of @SAL_Caucus, I am honored to stand with him in the fight to bring lasting peace and justice to this.”
Anna Paulina Luna was born in Santa Ana, California in 1989 and currently resides in St. Petersburg. She graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2017.
