Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, who represents Florida’s 13th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various issues. Luna, born in Santa Ana, California in 1989 and currently residing in St. Petersburg, has been serving since replacing Charlie Crist in 2023.
On July 9, 2025, Luna issued a correction regarding previous statements about visa procedures. She clarified that it was not about visas but rather about flagging an individual’s passport upon re-entry to the United States.
In a subsequent tweet on July 10, 2025, she discussed recent developments involving the Secret Service. Luna stated that “Six Secret Service agents assigned to President Trump during the assassination attempt in Butler, PA have now been suspended.” She emphasized the necessity of this action given what she described as “shocking security failures,” questioning the whereabouts of burner phones allegedly used during the incident.
Later that day, Luna addressed child sex crimes by advocating for harsher penalties. She announced her legislative efforts via Twitter: “The punishment for child sex crimes should be the death penalty, which is why I introduced legislation to increase mandatory minimums for child sex predators.” Her stance reflects her belief that America should focus on punishing offenders rather than concealing their actions.
Anna Paulina Luna graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2017 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives before her current congressional role.
