Florida Suncoast Sierra Club recently issued the following announcement.

March 24th, 9 am – Alafia River paddle. Join Kasy for a paddle on this State Designated Nature River Trail. Easy paddle, *a few WW spots. 3 hours paddle. 12 miles. Mid-paddle lunch stop.
*Plastic kayaks (*no fiberglass) best due to a few scratchy rock spots. *I suggest good footwear should there be a need to walk . Please *bring brush nippers (if have) for a few spots. Canoe rentals only – yes, call Kasy.
Shuttle required. Limit of 12 participants.
This will be an easy down-river paddle that requires a shuttle. Contact the leader to discuss shuttle arrangements. We will meet at Fishhawk Pizza, 7013 Lithia Pinecrest Rd, Lithia, FL 33547, left side of building to drive to the temporary put-in. The paddle starts a short distance away with the take-out at Lithia Springs SP. There is a $2 parking fee at Lithia Springs.
