On November 17th, 2022, just before 9:00 p.m., a black Chevy SUV driven by Scott Herndon, age 57, was traveling westbound on Central Avenue. A pedestrian, John Cowie, age 67, was crossing Central Avenue from South to North in the 2500 block, and was not in a crosswalk. Herndon struck Cowie in the westbound lane of Central Avenue.
