Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 13th district since 2023, has recently expressed her opinions on several issues via social media. Her tweets cover topics ranging from international politics to historical commemorations.
On July 3, 2025, Rep. Luna criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his actions against the Orthodox Church. She stated, “Zelenskyy BANNED THE ORTHODOX CHURCH. I CAN PROMISE THERE WILL BE NO WEAPONS FUNDING FOR YOU @ZelenskyyUa. NEGOTIATE FOR PEACE. WE ARE NOT YOUR PIGGY BANK.” The statement underscores her opposition to further military funding for Ukraine and calls for peaceful negotiations.
Following this, on July 4, 2025, she addressed backlash regarding her previous tweet about Ukraine. In a subsequent post, she noted the reaction of certain groups by saying, “Oh man. The Ukraine bots are big mad about this one…All of a sudden these pro-war shills are religion experts and also telepathic…” Her comments suggest skepticism toward critics who support the decision based on religious affiliations.
Later that day, Rep. Luna shared a more patriotic message referencing American history with a tweet marking Independence Day: “The REAL No Kings Day • July 4th, 1776”. This reflects her acknowledgment of American independence and its significance.
Anna Paulina Luna was born in Santa Ana, California in 1989 and graduated from the University of West Florida in 2017 with a BS degree. She resides in St. Petersburg and succeeded Charlie Crist in representing Florida’s 13th District.
