Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 13th district since 2023, has expressed her views on several pressing issues through social media. Luna, who replaced Charlie Crist and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives, has been vocal about her stance on government surveillance, immigration policies, and political controversies.
On May 16, 2025, Luna criticized the Patriot Act in a tweet stating “Patriot Act = legalized tyranny. It shredded the Constitution, unleashed warrantless spying, and created a surveillance monster. It must be repealed.” This statement underscores her opposition to what she perceives as overreach by government authorities into citizens’ privacy.
The following day, on May 17, 2025, Luna shared her experiences from a visit to an orphanage in El Salvador. She tweeted “I visited an orphanage in El Salvador and saw firsthand the consequences of letting thugs roam your country with impunity. We cannot have that here. We MUST continue to deport criminal aliens as quickly as possible. Every. Single. One.” Her comments highlight her firm stance on immigration enforcement and deportation policies.
Later on May 17, Luna commented on an ongoing controversy known as “Autopengate.” She urged people to “Listen to the Hurr tapes,” suggesting there is substantial evidence related to this issue that warrants public attention.
Anna Paulina Luna was born in Santa Ana, California in 1989 and currently resides in St. Petersburg. She graduated from the University of West Florida in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
