Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 13th district since 2023, recently shared updates on her social media platform regarding significant events and legal proceedings.
On May 20, 2025, Rep. Luna announced that she would be streaming the second JFK assassination hearing live. The stream was scheduled to begin at 1 PM Eastern Time on X and another platform. She encouraged followers not to miss this event.
Later that day, Rep. Luna addressed the ongoing legal battle involving Tory Lanez in a series of tweets. At 16:16 UTC, she noted that Tory Lanez had filed a direct appeal, a habeas petition, and a successive habeas, which have been consolidated by the California Court of Appeals. A panel has been seated for oral arguments, indicating that “this case is far from over” and emphasizing the importance of due process.
In another tweet posted at 16:17 UTC, Rep. Luna highlighted concerns about racial bias in sentencing laws after Tory Lanez was sentenced to ten years despite having no prior record. She pointed out that this sentence was largely due to a firearm enhancement law currently under scrutiny for racial bias, noting that Black defendants face a significantly higher rate of this enhancement compared to others.
Anna Paulina Luna has been an active political figure since replacing Charlie Crist in Congress in 2023. Born in Santa Ana, California in 1989 and currently residing in St. Petersburg, she graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2017.
