U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who serves Florida’s 13th district, recently addressed the issue of congressional financial interests in a series of posts on her official X account.

On September 4, 2025, Luna stated, “If members of Congress want to best represent their constituency, we have to make sure we’re not putting our own financial interests ahead of the interests of the American people. This is a bipartisan issue. It’s past time for Congress to act.” The post highlights ongoing concerns about potential conflicts between lawmakers’ personal finances and their legislative responsibilities.

Later that same day, Luna acknowledged media attention on the subject by posting, “Thank you @TIME magazine for covering this!” She followed up with another message directing followers to further reading: “Read the full piece: https://t.co/dPekw0MOhu”

Anna Paulina Luna has represented Florida’s 13th congressional district since 2023 after succeeding Charlie Crist. Prior to her current role in Congress, she served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Santa Ana, California in 1989 and currently residing in St. Petersburg at age 33, Luna earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of West Florida in 2017.
