Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 13th district since 2023, posted several messages on her Twitter account in early May 2026, addressing topics ranging from Teacher Appreciation Week to speculation about her potential candidacy for Speaker of the House.
On May 8, Luna expressed gratitude toward educators at the close of Teacher Appreciation Week, writing: “As we come to the end of Teacher Appreciation Week I want to thank all the teachers of FL13 and beyond who are helping to educate, mentor, and inspire the next generation https://t.co/gr9S6h9jb7”.
The following day, on May 9, she publicly commended President Biden with a brief message: “This.Well done @POTUS https://t.co/o5tVcqHbKl”.
Later that same day, Luna addressed rumors regarding her being considered for Speaker of the House. She stated: “I am completely honored that so many people are asking me, floated me, or have said that I would be a great Speaker of the House. Truly, it is wonderful and I am flattered to have that type of support and trust. However, I do not know where the rumor started that I was”.
Anna Paulina Luna has served as a member of Congress since replacing Charlie Crist in 2023 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Santa Ana, California in 1989 and currently residing in St. Petersburg at age 33, Luna graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2017.
