Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 13th district, posted a series of tweets on July 18, 2025, addressing concerns over threats to rapper Nicki Minaj and expressing broader apprehensions about corruption and alleged smear campaigns.
In her first post at 15:25 UTC, Luna wrote: “Can confirm, I spoke with @NICKIMINAJ directly and will be doing everything we can to ensure her safety. We take threats of violence and assassination very seriously.
RICO is also illegal.
I am deeply concerned that there has been unchecked corruption within certain aspects”.
Shortly after, at 15:26 UTC, she added: “*Coup de grâce for those who are triggered by overthrowing the deep state. “.
Later in the day at 17:20 UTC, Luna commented further on perceived negative media coverage by stating: “Would you look at that. Inside smear job. https://t.co/lhN5rUddCE”.
Anna Paulina Luna began serving in Congress in 2023 after replacing Charlie Crist as representative for Florida’s 13th district. She previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives and was born in Santa Ana, California in 1989 before moving to St. Petersburg. Luna graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2017.
